  • On the "Feature Selection" window, check the boxes that say "Database Engine Services", "Full-Text and Semantic Extractions for Search", "Reporting Services - Native", and "Management Tools - Basic". Click "Next".



  • On the "Instance Configuration" window, choose either "Default instance" or "Named instance" depending on your preference. Click "Next".



  • On the "Server Configuration" window, leave the default settings and click "Next".



  • On the "Database Engine Configuration" window, choose either "Windows authentication mode" or "Mixed Mode (SQL Server authentication and Windows authentication)" depending on your preference.   • On the "Error Reporting" window, check or uncheck the box that says "Send feature usage data to Microsoft..." depending on your preference. Click "Next".



  • On the "Installation Configuration Rules" window, wait for the rules to be checked and click "Next".



  • On the "Ready to Install" window, review the summary of features and settings and click "Install".



  • Wait for the installation process to complete and click "Close".
